This week in Science the Year 4/5/6 learnt about the Mars Lunar Lander. We watched a video produced by NASA explaining how important every little detail is when planning space travel. We learnt about the '7 minutes of terror' when because of time delays, the Mars lander is out of contact with earth for 7 minutes. 

The children were then tasked with using the given materials to build their own Lunar Lander. The rules were to create a lander that would land slowly and safely so the astronaut (ping pong ball) would not fall out of the capsule (cup). Results are still to be determined!
