Year 3/4 Team

TERM 4 WITH YEAR 3/4!

We're thrilled to highlight the wonderful progress and enthusiasm of our 3/4 cohort! The students have been engaged in a variety of exciting activities, fostering both learning and discovery.  Our term started with our camp to Woorabinda where students were encouraged to deepen their demonstration of courtesy, consideration and cooperation.  On arrival back at school, we focused on redeveloping connections with each other through our wellbeing activities.

Our dedication to improving reading fluency has been a great success. Through activities like echo, choral, and repeated reading, the children not only refined their reading abilities but also gained a boost in confidence. It's truly remarkable to see their progress in becoming more fluent readers.

Exploring narratives through storyboards has been an exciting adventure. The children have embraced the task of planning and drafting stories that include local characters and essential life lessons. Witnessing their creativity and individuality through these imaginative narratives has been great to see.

In our maths sessions, students explored concepts like area and perimeter, making these abstract ideas tangible by using trundle wheels outdoors for hands-on measuring during mental math activities. Their enthusiasm for these interactive tasks has been wonderful to see. They also focused on creating appropriate survey questions. They've gathered data, organised it meticulously in tables using tally marks, and brought it to life through the graphs they have created.
