Shearing

A very big thank you to David Bourne and Paul MacDonald for helping us to shear the school flock on Friday the 13th October. A big thank you also to Mr McLeish and the 7/8 XP class for helping with all the shed preparation, mustering and rouseabouting on the day. All the students that wished to have a go at shearing were given the opportunity under the careful supervision of either Paul or David, even Mr McLeish got in on the act. While for some of our students shearing maybe a regular part of life, for many others the entire experience is extremely new, a bit daunting and brings with it an entirely new set of terminology and skills to try and learn. The shearers were extremely impressed when the students managed to handle Pedro the ram and present him for his annual haircut. Thanks again to David and Paul.
