Yarning Circle

Over the past few weeks we have slowly, but surely been making progress with the garden area surrounding the new Yarning Circle. The Year 8 and 9/10 Agriculture class, and some of the VPC students have worked alongside with Mrs Oliver, Mrs Freeman and Mr Williams to get this project to a near completion. The students have dug, raked, crowbarred, forked, and dug again the soil, then watered and planted a wide variety of native plants. Finally, they have rolled, lifted and heaved all the rocks for edging. Thank you to everyone involved in getting this project to a closer final stage.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to collect and deliver empty milk bottles to the school. Our class now has enough to begin the task of gluing the bottles together to make our igloos. We will show you some photos of them when they are finished.

Thanks again,

Curtain Rising: A Sneak Peek into Our School Production Rehearsals

Excitement is building, costumes are being designed, and lines are being memorised - it can only mean one thing: our school production is on the horizon! The first few months of rehearsals have been nothing short of exhilarating, and we can't wait to give you a glimpse into the thrilling world we're creating.

Next year's production, "The Addams Family," is set to be a true spectacle, and our talented cast and crew have been working hard to bring it to life. The dedication and enthusiasm of our students is truly remarkable.

Rehearsals kicked off in September, the cast have been learning their lines and singing their songs through the halls of the school bursting with creativity.  With the director’s guidance, our young actors have been diligently perfecting their lines, refining their character portrayals, and rehearsing choreography and musical numbers. The commitment and effort put into these early rehearsals is evident in the remarkable progress I've witnessed.

The cast members are not only honing their theatrical skills but also developing a strong sense of camaraderie. The friendships formed during rehearsals are invaluable, and they contribute to the overall success of the production. Collaboration and teamwork are essential in a school play, and I am proud to say that our students are excelling in this aspect.

Parent and community involvement is an integral part of a production journey. If parents, guardians or the wider community would like to support our crew, we would appreciate assistance with costume creating, fundraising or set building and painting later in 2024. Collaboration between the school and our community is what makes our school productions so special.

The students are very excited for next year when we amp up the rehearsals and start to see the blend of these talented students’ creativity and dedication bring The Addams Family to life.

Stay tuned for more updates and a sneak peek behind the scenes. We look forward to sharing the magic of our school production with you all in 2024.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We can't wait to see you in the audience, witnessing the incredible talent and hard work of our students.

Mrs Cassie Stringer
