Reflections

It feels very exciting (and a little bit overwhelming) to be writing my first article for the Whytalla as Acting Assistant Principal. I’ve been mulling over just what to write and there are so many different thoughts that have come to mind. But the one thing that I kept coming back to was ‘How are we already in Term 4?’ and ‘how are we already so close to the end of the year?’ Everyone I talk to will often say the same thing, time seems to be moving so quickly and 2023 feels like it is moving at warp speed! So I thought I should run with that theme. I’ve been busy reflecting on what the year has brought along with thinking about what 2024 will bring. Of course I reached out to Google to see what it thought about reflection and this is what I found…

Edenhope College is well into the planning stage for 2024 in so many ways and with that, reflecting on 2023 to guide decisions for 2024. This is where for us as a school, feedback provides greater opportunity for reflection. Without feedback, reflection remains internal and doesn’t include our community in preparing for 2024. In looking ahead to 2024 we would love your feedback. You may receive invitations to complete Google Form feedback or a phone call from a member of staff seeking feedback and it would be highly appreciated if you would be willing to participate so that 2024 grows on our past. If you have reflections on 2023 (or beyond) send them our way (call or email is welcome).

On a personal note, I now wonder if  I reflect enough and more importantly use those reflections in looking forward. So I’m going to spend some time looking back at the lessons of 2023. How about you?
