Important Notices for Next Week

  1. Friday 27th Oct  'Day for Daniel' - World Teacher's Day
  2. Wednesday 1st Nov Prep 2024 Transition Day 2
  3. Wednesday Year 5/6 Bike Ride - Mrs McLeary

Dear Families and Friends,

I am not sure who of our staff took the beautiful photo above, at our Year 5/6 camp, but clearly they have a career beyond teaching in photography. The photo certainly made me wish I was there. No doubt by now our senior children have shared with their families what a wonderful and challenging experience they had on camp. Whilst these experiences take considerable organization and require great resources they are ones I am sure most parents would want for their children. I myself can recall great memories from school camps and the wonderful lessons learnt many which could not be possible in our classrooms.  Thank you to all the staff who attended and of course our amazing children who all once again represented Trinity perfectly.  I look forward to their reflections at our school assembly on Friday.

Welcome to our new St John's Families

As you are probably all now aware, next year we will be welcoming over twenty families from St John's Clifton Hill. Last Friday we invited them to attend for the day as a way of ensuring their start next year will be a smooth one. As expected our children and staff did an amazing job of welcoming them jnto their classrooms and I am confident each of them left feeling much better about what will surely be a challenging transition into their new school next year.  We hope that they will all be able to visit again soon before the end of the year.

2024 Intentions

It is that time of the year again when I need all families to share their intentions for 2024. Of course it is my hope that each of our children will be returning next year, however, I am also aware that plans do change and that sometimes families may move and therefore children may not be returning next year. It is essential that I have an idea of school numbers for next year so that we can begin planning our classroom structures ahead of time.  If one parent per family could complete this 2024 INTENTIONS FORM that would be great. Thank you to the 27 families who have already done so.

With strong enrolments it has now become necessary to increase our classes from 8 to 10. This is great for Trinity and a positive sign that there is strong demand for our school in the wider community. Thank you all for being one big reason that so many families consider Trinty as they hear great things by word of mouth and certainly feel the great sense of welcome and community when they come for a school tour.

Day for Daniel

Tomorrow we will, as a school, acknowledge, Day for Daniel. Day for Daniel is held on the last Friday of October every year to honour Daniel Morcombe. Since the Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established in 2005, Day for Daniel has become Australia's largest child safety education and awareness day. I hope that the information your child brought home yetserday gives you more of an idea of what we will cover at school.

A rmeinder also that we ask all children to wear a touch of red as a symbol for Daniel.

Please see Ms O'Connors Family Engagement page for more information.

World Teachers Day

Tomorrow is World Teacher's Day and so on behalf of our whole school community I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Trinty, we are all teachers here, Classroom Teachers, Specialists, LSOs and Admin Staff. Thank you all for the work you do each day in looking after our children, teaching them so many important things along the way and for doing so many things above and beyond what you are all paid to do.

Child Safety:Child Safety Standards

As a school community we are required to know and implement each of the 11 Child Safe Standards seen in the above link. Each year, as a staff, we revisit these to ensure they are part of our regular practice and procedures.

As an example of this, for Child Safe Standard 2:

Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.

at Trinity we have ensured the following actions are caried out.

  • Leaders, staff, volunteers, members and children in the organisation champion and model a child safe culture. They express support for keeping children safe, take action when they have concerns about children’s safety and prioritise the safety of children as part of everyday practice. (2.2)
  • Leaders set clear expectations around child safety and ensure the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy is implemented by staff and volunteers. (2.3)
  • Leaders promote a culture of reporting. (2.2, 2.3)
  • Governance arrangements mean senior leaders regularly review the organisation’s performance in delivering child safety and wellbeing. (2.3 and links to 10.1)
