School Council Update
Term 1 Working Bee
This years School Council has kicked off the year with a strong start. With 3 new members we have taken a little time to get to know each other and learn what skills we all bring to the group.
A big thank you to all families who donated to the easter raffle hampers, it was amazing to see 17 prizes. The easter colouring competition was a big hit with the students and we look forward to growing this easter feature in the years to come.
Fundraising is critical to be able to achieve the additional features that the Department of Education do not fund, but the children benefit from. For example the recently installed ball protection net behind the southern soccer goal was funded via last years fundraising activities. If you have a particular interest in fundraising or have any ideas please reach out to any School Council Member.
A very big thank you to all the families who attended the Term 1 working bee, we are in awe of how much work was done.
All the families who attended the working bee had a fantastic can do attitude and many stayed well beyond the advertised time. Special mention to the members of the 'wood crews' who sanded and repaired for 3 straight hrs and and those who worked collaboratively to improve the calm space (even donated plants) and the gym entry area.
Not only are working bee's a great opportunity to improve our yard, it is also a great way to meet other families.
We look forward to working with other families and teaching staff on continuing to improve the grounds, our next target is the fairy garden.
We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable easter and we look froward to returning in term 2 and kicking off some fun social events for the Essendon Primary School community.
