Water Polo at Ivanhoe Edge
Jade Vidal, Ivanhoe Edge Water Polo Coach
The Australian Youth Championships held in Brisbane this past January witnessed an impressive display of talent from the water polo arena, with Leo Briganti, Max Rowe and Anthony Rigopoulos making waves in the competition. Despite stiff competition, the trio demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, ultimately clinching a respectable 7th place overall nationally in the Gold Division.
Throughout the tournament, these Ivanhoe Edge students, alongside Leon Vidal, showcased their prowess in the pool, exhibiting teamwork, strategic ability, and exceptional individual performances. Their dedication and hard work were evident as they navigated their way through tough matches, securing victories and earning admiration from fans and competitors alike.
Following their commendable performance in Brisbane, these students carried their momentum into the Tri States Championships held in Geelong in February. Building upon their previous success, Vidal, Briganti, and Rigopoulos continued to impress, finishing in a remarkable achievement as they clinched the silver medal.
Having showcased their talent and determination in recent water polo championships, Leon Vidal, Leo Briganti, and Anthony Rigopoulos are gearing up for their next challenge: the Victorian Team Trials scheduled for mid-July.
