Thursday Representative Sport (Year 7 - 10)

Season one of Rep Sport will come to an end next week. All of our teams have competed well throughout the season.

A special congratulations to our Year 9/10 Girls Volleyball who made it to the quarter finals. 

 

A big thank you to all of our coaches this term for all the hard work they put in with of our teams - Mrs Genovese, Mrs Sluiter, Miss Turner, Miss Greening, Mr Burns, Mr Fucile, Mr Zaccaria, Mr Bettiol and Miss Gatt.

 

Trials for season 2 will take place at the beginning of term 2. Sports on offer are - girls netball, boys and girls soccer and mixed ultimate frisbee. Students are currently invited to sign up to trial if they are interested in trialling for one of the season 2 sports. This sign up process will close next Thursday 11/4/24. 

 

 

School Cross Country Trials 

On Monday 25th March we held our school Cross Country Trials. It was great to see so many students register to challenge themselves. Results are posted on the sports notice board which is located in the Marketplace. All students that have qualified for the Diocesan Cross Country will receive information and a permission form next week via Compass. 

 

 

 

 

Primary Diocesan Swimming Carnival and PDSSSC Swimming Carnival 

We had several students participate in the Blacktown Zone and Parramatta Diocesan Swimming Carnivals. All students competed extremely well, with many achieving personal bests. Congratulations to all students who represented St Luke’s at these events. 

 

 

Parramatta Diocesan Sport

Congratulations to Cassius (Stage 3) for recently being selected on the Parramatta Diocesan Under 11s Rugby League team. Cassius will travel next term to compete against other Diocesan teams from around NSW. 

 

 

 

 

 

NSWCCC Cricket

Congratulations to Tanishka (Stage 5) for being selected on the NSWCCC Girls Cricket team. This is an outstanding effort and we wish Tanishka the best of luck next week when she competes as part of the NSWCCC team. 

 

 

2024 NSW Junior Athletics Championships 

We had two students participate in the NSW Junior Athletics Championships last month. Both Cortez from Stage 4 and Salote from Stage 5 competed against the best junior athletes from around the state. Cortez and Salote are to be congratulated for the following results: 

 

Cortez: 

400m - 4th place

100m - 3rd place

200m - 6th place

 

Salote: 

Shot Put - 1st

 

Both students have qualified to participate in Nationals which is in Adelaide later this month. 

 

  

 

Junior State Cup Touch Football

Cameron from stage 3 is to be commended for his efforts earlier this year at the Junior State Cup Touch Football event. Cameron and his team had an exceptional run and made it to the quarter finals. Cameron was awarded player of the tournament for his team. A big congratulations to Cameron for his outstanding achievement.
