From the Principal
Relationships, community ...
Over the past few weeks I have been meeting with children and families who are interested in coming to Good Shepherd. These words were shared regularly as to why they are interested in sending their children here. Many mention hearing from current parents sharing their positive experiences about teachers and the community, thank you for this!
While the words can be a little 'cliche' I will continue to talk about their importance within our school community, don't get me wrong - I know that we are a site of education and this is our core business, but supporting students and adults in navigating learning and life cannot happen in isolation. It must be underpinned by connection. Connection to self and to others, and here at Good Shepherd we talk and learn about our connection to God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We know that there are times when relationships are broken, but as a school we strive to support students to call on a tool kit of strategies that help repair them. When this occurs, we continue to build a positive community culture for school but also into the future.
Active and connected, growing for LIFE!
Active and connected this term has looked like Parent Partnership Nights, Welcome Party, Sports Day and Learning Conversations. I know that there have been many other opportunities throughout the term both incidental and planned. May this rest from routine be a chance to reflect on these joys.
I want to thank you all for the support that you have shown myself and the school staff throughout this term. I thank you for the words of encouragement and open, honest communication. It is an ongoing privilege to lead this school. I thank the school staff for their work as they prepare to decompress and prepare for Term 2.
May this break from school routine bring rest for your children and families as you reconnect in a different way.
Many blessings,
Evie
