After the Wimmera Fields Days, our next stop was Penola for a catch up with our SE SA community. Our annual Katnook drinks is a highlight on the calendar, with many existing and past families catching up and sharing stories. Happy news on teh night was that Old Collegian Tom Heatherington (Class of 2015) is tying the knot this weekend. All the very best Tom and to the Heatherington family. We understand the demands of farming life and family commitments, so we are looking at more dates this year for our South Aussie families to get together and catch up.
It was wonderful to connect with many current and past families as the Lucindale Field Days, and to meet prospective new families and talk to them about the College opportunities.
Max and Izzy are our GAPPERS from Oakham College in the midlands area of the UK. They are absolutely loving their time here and couldn’t have asked for a better place to set themselves up for a year of 6-months. In particular, Max has jumped into his passion for Cricket. A big thank you to the College Cricket Team for their support and guidance of Max during the summer season, and now it is on to Australian Rules Football!
I will admit I am a little nervous about Max and AFL but I'm sure he will be well looked after on the field and in training. Tim Wilson (Class of 2003) helped Max on his first training session which he survived without problem.
GAPPER Max StJohn.
Our Boarding House Run Club is continuing to gather momentum. This may have something to do with the College House Cross Country competition early in Term Two.
This week our mornings have been a little darker than usual, however, this is not stopping the eager group of 15 who showed up. It was so encouraging to see casual boarders take up the opportunity as well as our full-time boarders.
Watching the morning sunrise and completing a 3k or 5k run is the perfect way to start a day. A very big shout out to consistent runners Elsie Adams (Year 12) Eli Hunter (Year 12), Tom Heazlewood (Year 12), Will Legoe (Year 10), and Max Malseed (Year7).
End of Term One:
Concludes on Thursday, 28 March at 2:30pm.
Start of Term Two:
