The past two weeks the Prep students have enjoyed participating in the school swimming program. They demonstrated the school values of resilience, responsibility and respect whilst traveling to and from the pool and swimming everyday. They learnt many new skills, improved in their swimming abilities and even learnt how to perform safe rescues! Thank you to all the parent helpers who came along and helped.

The program ended with all students participating in a water safety session wherethey worked through a series of activities to build their water safety skills including safe rescues, survival stroke and swimming with clothes. It was loads of fun!! They have also been working hard on their Inquiry projects where they are designing a resource to teach others about the social skills required to build and maintain positive relationships.

Year 3

What a week we had in Year 3!Last week the Year 3 students were super excited to venture to Camp Oasis for our first school camp. Our days and night were jam packed with many exciting activities including, Crate Climbing, Flying Fox, Low Ropes Course, Candle Making, A Talent Show and a visit to The Reptile House. We all stepped outside our comfort zones and demonstrated our school value of resilience by giving everything a go even if we were unsure! The food was amazing! We had tacos and ice cream on the first night, delicious hash browns and eggs for breakfast and the pizza for lunch before we headed home. It was all delicious! Thank you to all the parents who attended to make our camp possible. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

On Thursday last week, we had a visit from Supreme Incursions who conducted an incursion called ‘Crazy Chemicals’ to help support and extend our knowledge throughout our Inquiry unit of Science. Throughout the day we explored the states of matter, different materials, and investigated chemical and physical changes. We were able to investigate various objects and discuss their materials as well complete some science experiments which involved chemical change. We had an absolute ball and rated this incursion 10/10.

We are super excited to finish our science unit off working through the Scientific method with our home experiments which will completed over the coming week.Looking forward to a fun filled final four weeks in Year 3 for 2023!

Year 4

This fortnight in Year 4 the students have been working really hard on their knowledge of fractions and working on some excellent persuasive pieces of writing. The highlight was definitely our incursion with Mini Boss. The students learnt a lot about working in a team and being inclusive.

They have shown enormous resilience and a can do attitude over this time ! They have been working hard on their shark tank inquiry projects working out a gap in the market for the  Concourse . Who knows maybe you may just see one of their ideas pop up one day!

Victoria Market

This Term, as part of our Business and Economics unit, the Year 6’s went on an excursion to the Victoria Market. Prior to our trip to the market, each student created a Master Chef menu and wrote an ingredients list. They discussed the prices of ingredients with their parents and negotiated a set budget to purchase the items on their lists. The Year 6 students were keen to find the freshest produce and best bargains. They had a fabulous time buying their produce and many of our students finished their experience with a trip to the donut van! The Master Chef project was a real hit. The Year 6’s learnt a lot about the cost of living and sticking to a budget, and consequently some delicious meals were cooked by our students for their families.
