The Principal Team

Our spectacular Twilight Fest Fete.

We are still basking in the success of last Saturday's Twilight Fest Fete. We are the talk of the town with so many people in the broader community acknowledging that Beaumaris Primary had the most outstanding fete last Saturday. Attendance was so strong that it was clear the event was not only enjoyed by our own students and parents, but by so many others as well. I think we all feel very proud and grateful to Alison and the team for their hard work and dedication over so many months.

A Successful Swimming Program

This week our 2023 Swimming Program has come to an end. Over several weeks our students have been challenging their own skills in the water and this means they will be safer in the future, especially over summer activities. This important opportunity was somewhat lost over lockdowns so I think many of us feel assured that the program returned. Congratulations to all students and the teachers and parents who supported them. To make the program happen is quite a logistical operation so thank you all.

Victorian High Ability Program

Beaumaris Primary has had many students selected to participate in the Victorian High Ability program. These Year 5 and 6 students are selected by the Department of Education based on NAPLAN results. Students are then offered the opportunity to participate in online extension modules in Maths or English followed by a Masterclass.

This week I was fortunate to attend the English masterclass at Brighton Primary where Brendan from "100 Stories" coached our students in writing development. Congratulations to Brinley, Malia, Annabel, Ethan, Henry, Evelyn, Vanessa, Amelia and Gabe on your enthusiastic participation on the day.

Student Placement 2024

The creation of 2024 classes and the placement of our students is a complex process requiring many factors to be taken into consideration. Parent information is one part of the process, along with the carefully considered information that teachers gather through their daily work with their students, including their detailed knowledge of their students as learners as well as the way they work and interact with others.

Parents wishing to provide confidential information to assist us in the process of student placement should complete ‘Class Placement of Pupils’ form at our General Office.

Parents are requested to only provide information that may assist their child’s learning and educational needs. Requests for individual teachers will not be considered.  If you have any educational requests related to your child’s class placement in 2024, please complete a form and return to us by Thursday 30th November 2023.

Note: If you have submitted requests by email, we do need you to fill out the form as well.

Will you be at Beaumaris Primary next year?

We are working towards establishing staffing for 2024 and determining student numbers is essential. Our numbers at Beaumaris Primary remain strong, but if you are aware your child or children won't be with us next year, it would be very helpful if you could let our office admin team know as soon as possible. Thank you.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
