Open Girls League Tag

On Thursday 16th of November, Kildare competed in the Years 7-9 League Tag Gala Day.  The girls won both of their pool games against Tumbarumba (44-0)  and Temora High School (18-4), resulting in them finishing on top of their pool and playing against Junee High School in the first round of finals.

The girls continued to perform strongly and played outstanding in both defence and attack, winning this game. They then progressed to the semifinals against McAuley Tumut, and again  came out victorious. Likewise to the previous games that the girls had played, they continued to demonstrate outstanding communication, teamwork and sportsmans skills. This was no different when the girls played against Mater Dei in the Grand Final. The girls went down 6-4 in the grand final.

A big thank you to the parents who came along to support the girls and helped out throughout the day.

 Ramsey Cup Rugby Competition

In Term 4, the Ramsey Cup Rugby competition ran over 4 weeks. The Girls team consisted of a number of players who had very limited experience playing Rugby. The girls grew in confidence as the competition went on and finished the group stage with 2 wins and 1 draw which saw them into the final against Wagga Wagga HS.

The final was a hard fought contest with Kildare having a large percentage of the possession, with Annabelle Willis, Shayla Watson and Anna Sase scoring tries. Final score finished 17-10 to Kildare. With Annabelle Willis being named player of the match.

Congratulations to all the girls involved and special mention goes Shallan Wright and Shayla Watson whose experience played a vital role in leading the team.

Netball News

Congratulations to Emily McPherson in Year 10 who has been selected in the NSW Under 17s State Netball team to play Nationals in Melbourne in April.

This is a phenomenal achievement and we wish her well. There is a significant financial cost associated with making such a team due to Emily being required to travel to Sydney every weekend for 3 months prior to Nationals. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Emily's family cover travel and accommodation expenses. Please consider donating if you can.
