Upper Primary Update
Students have had a fantastic final term in their Upper Primary classes. As we farewell 2023, it’s important that we recognise all the amazing contributions our wonderful students have achieved this term.
Students have made excellent progress with their English skills, particularly with their writing. Since exploring alternative pencils and giving students different writing tools to convey their thoughts and ideas, we have seen an increased growth with their writing! It has been wonderful to see students flourish in this area and feel confident to write in their own way!
Students have had the opportunity to explore and undertake Science experiments, such as lava lamps, salt crystal snowflakes, as well as making playdough, a rainstorm in a jar and a volcano. These lessons were planned and organised by our newest teacher, Kelly. The students and staff absolutely loved engaging with these.
Students continue to make numeracy connections and have explored telling the time, identifying money and understanding it’s value. It’s been great to see students feel more confident with counting to 10 and beyond and applying their counting skills when adding and subtracting.
Now as we enter our last weeks of school, the students have been enjoying this time to engage in hands-on Christmas activities (organised by our teacher, Andrea) and spending more quality time with their peers and teachers. We have such a wonderful cohort of students, and the Upper Primary Team will miss them greatly next year.
Have a very merry Christmas, a happy new year and a safe and fun holiday!
