5/6 M 

It has been a wonderful year of learning and fun in 5/6 M here are some of our highlights!

My highlight of the Year was going to Phillip Island for camp - it was the best time ever. When we were on the bus ride there it was such a cool atmosphere. We did so many fun activities at camp like raft making and going to the beach , we also made pancakes but they weren't successful at all ! When we went to the beach I ended up accidentally bumping into Mya causing her to fall in the water and get completely soaked, the rest of the time we spent there was her chasing after me trying to get me splashed. We all had a blast and it was such a memorable experience! 

Jadah

As being part of this journey, I am so lucky to be a part of this amazing adventure at SJV. The favourite memory from this year would be going to camp with my friends and teachers. At camp there were lots of funny moments and lots of fun activities such as the big swing. This year was 1 in a million and it's been a really fun year.

Chloe 

Our favorite times at SJV were camp, Gala day, and many others! We honestly thought that our camp would be terrible because we were worried that we wouldn’t get in a cabin with all of our friends. We have so many funny memories from camp and one of them was the chip party. Everyone in the girls' shared area came out of their cabins and saw the teachers bringing in packets of chips. We all came out into a big area and opened the chips and shared them with everyone. Once we all finished we all ran back to our cabins. Once the teachers left, everyone in our cabin started being so noisy and were having a blast! It was super fun and I would totally do it again.

Sofia and Lula

Our highlight of 2023 was year 6 camp. We experienced many fun activities like the giant swing, flying fox and canoeing. We enjoyed going to the beach because we got to eat seaweed and throw rocks into the sea. Even though the activities were fun, the one best thing about the camp was the variety of food that was there. One time we were allowed to roast marshmallows that the camp provided with us. We all enjoyed the wonderful meals that they gave us with cordial. We are very happy to experience this wonderful occasion thanks to the teachers. We also really enjoyed Book Week and all of the class dressed up for the day.

This year was such a special year being year 6, getting to have a buddy and going to camp! There were so many but some things I enjoyed most were hanging out with my friends at camp and doing all the activities. Another highlight of this year was going to district for the first time even though I didn't win. It was still so fun. Overall this year was one of my best memories.

My favourite thing from this year was Year 6 camp. What I really liked about Year 6 camp is when we had team rescue, my group had the most funny argument  while there was me that was just laughing at the argument.

My favourite thing from this year was when I was doing Team Rescue at Year 6 Camp, and my friend Amelia fell off the path and I fell on top of her.

My favorite thing about this year was year 6 camp because the activities were so fun like the giant swing, twin flying fox, canoeing, raft making, going to the beach and while we were going to the beach.

My favorite thing about this year was year 6 camp.

The funniest thing about camp was the flying fox and giant swing and all the other activities like canoeing and making a raft.

I also had fun hanging out with my friends.

Lucia

Hello my name is Ethan and I will tell you what I liked about SJV this year. I like to play Blooket, hanging out with my friends or being alone by myself. I also like Godzilla, Kaijus and watching movies. We also like to play Minecraft during Digitech on Friday and board games on rainy days. I enjoy Visual Art because I really love to draw. I had a great time at the school production because it was fun. I also did LEGO club where I worked together and built things with other students.

Our favourite memory at SJV this year was when we got to go to other schools and play netball and when we went to all the Gala days. Another one of our favorite memories is when all the year 5 students went to watch the Freaky Friday musical played by Mazenod and Avila College when the year 6 students were at camp. Another one of our memories is when we went to twisted science where we got to mix chemicals and explore then went to  Burden Park afterwards to eat lunch.

We all loved the Twisted Science excursion at 22-36 Bulli Street, Moorabbin. Why? We learned about science and did fun science experiments and played around with some of the building blocks. What we also liked was, we got to build a paper airplane, some of us even got to build a car in a different section!

Twisted Science was an exciting adventure, our personal FAVOURITE is the button game, it like you press a button to test your reaction(to try to press the button when you see the light on a number as fast as you can "Pew pew, bam bam"

Hello, Im Rohin and I will be telling you about my favorite thing about this year. My favourite thing about this year was how kind my year 5 and 6 friends were because they gave me second chances. They helped me whenever I needed help or when I'm injured and I can't forget the teachers because they were  great this year!

When I needed help with my homework or an assignment, they would always help me!

Rohin

My favorite thing about grade 5 was Gala Day

On Gala Day I played soccer and softball. In softball we made it to district and for soccer we were knocked out. I had a fun day playing on Gala Day and was surprised that we made it district in softball. We won 2 games and lost 2 games in softball. In soccer we won at least 4 matches. I had fun and was excited to win the games. 

Justin

My favorite part of this year was Gala day. My first Gala Day I played cricket. We have two Gala Days, 1 for summer sport and one for winter sport. In the summer sport I played cricket in A team but sadly lost all our games but they were very close. In winter sport I was in the C team but I almost scored a goal but on the second day I got to move to the A team which was really exciting for me. In the first game our team won 7-0 and in our second game we lost in penalties and lost the tournament but we still had lots of fun. 

Jacob

Our favorite memory is when we were at gala day playing soccer. Throughout the day we played several matches and won most of them. We were having so much fun and we were encouraging each other during tough games. After all of our games we were exhausted. At our second gala day we were all ready and energized to win all of our games. We were playing so well that we made it to the semi finals and the match which was very stressful. We had tied at the last minute, so we had to do penalties and we were all nervous and some were praying. But in the end we lost. We were all sad, but all of that was for fun. We all tried our best to win for our school and we were all happy.

Ashton & Steven

Our  favourite memory of 2023 was when the year six’s went to camp and all the year fives got to go and watch Freaky Friday the Musical. The bus left at 9:15 and we got back 2:30.It took about 15 minutes to get to Monash University when we got there the first thing we did was eat our fruit then we had to wait a bit and we went in there at 10:15 and the musical was one of the best we've  ever seen. There was a 30 minute break to eat our snack  at about 12:00 then we went to watch the rest of it and it finished at 2:00 and we left at about 2:20 and got back at 2:35 and we got to play on the playground for the rest of the day.
