Gospel Reading

Luke 2:22–40

Simeon recognizes the infant Jesus as the promised Messiah.

We recognise, just as Simeon did that Jesus is the greatest gift ever given. All of us who are followers of Jesus are also asked to be “gifts” to others by caring for them. What are some ways we can show we care?

2025- Sacrament of Confirmation

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Catholic students in Year Six are to continue their sacramental journey and begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in Term 4.

The Sacrament of Confirmation enables the faithful to be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them in their Christian life. Confirmation fills us with the Holy Spirit so that we bear witness to Him before the world and work to bring the Body of Christ to its fullness.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is usually celebrated within Mass because this most fully demonstrates that Confirmation completes the initiation of the candidate into our Eucharistic Community.

The first part of this preparation begins with a  Parent Information Session on:

Wednesday 12 February, 6:30 pm at the Parish Community Centre

This information session is mandatoryto enable you to support your child’s faith development.

Please note other important dates:

  1. Presentation Mass for  Confirmation Candidates will be held on 27th July at St Peter’s Church.
  2. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be received on Saturday, 18 October 6 pm.

    Thank you

Parish masses

At St Peter's, we are very fortunate to have a Church close to school and the pastoral care and support from Fr. Andrew, our parish priest, to foster a strong connection between faith and the daily life of our students.

Attending a class Mass, especially as part of a school community, can have a profound impact on both the individual and the group.

A class Mass allows students to come together as a community of faith, reinforcing the idea that they are part of something larger than themselves. It helps build a collective spiritual identity and a sense of belonging within the Church.

Dear Parents/Carers,

This is to inform you that the students in Grade 3-4 K will participate in Holy Mass on Wednesday, 12th  February, at 9:00 a.m.  This school expectation is a part of our curriculum and brings us together as a Parish and School Community.

The students are expected to be in school by 8:40 am., where the staff will take the roll and then head off to the Church by 8:50 am. If your child arrives after the scheduled time, they would need to go 3-4A.

If any parents/carers would like to attend Mass you are most welcome, just come directly to St Peter’s Church at the scheduled time.

Thanks for your support and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Ms Kurzel and Mrs DeVisser
