Dear Le Page Families,
What an incredible week it has been at Le Page Primary School. Our community has been buzzing with energy, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to learning and growth.
For the first time ever, we proudly sent a squad of 24 students to the District Swimming Carnival. It was an absolute joy to see our students give their best efforts in the pool, demonstrating resilience, determination, and school spirit. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship were truly inspiring!
This week also marked the beginning of our school tours, and it was wonderful to welcome so many prospective families. The high level of interest in our school is a testament to the incredible learning environment we have built together. Visitors were eager to hear about our philosophy, rooted in Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and to see firsthand the leadership and confidence of our students. With tours fully booked for the remainder of the term, it’s clear that our community is growing stronger every day.
Professional learning remains a priority for our staff, ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible education for our students. Teachers engaged in their ongoing Numicon training, enhancing their ability to support students’ mathematical development. Meanwhile, our Education Support Staff participated in a Colourful Semantics workshop with speech pathologist Mia, further strengthening their skills in language development support. We also wrapped up our John Monash Science School sessions this week - students loved the challenge and engagement these lessons provided.
Additionally, a group of our school leaders visited Chelsea Primary School to observe outstanding mathematics teaching practices in action. This visit was invaluable as we continue to refine our own approach, ensuring the best outcomes for our students.
Beyond the classroom, our school community had a fantastic time at the Parent Social Night at the Stomping Ground. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections, share laughter, and celebrate the friendships that make our school such a special place.
And of course, today brought excitement for our youngest learners as the Fire Brigade visited our Foundation students! Seeing their faces light up while learning about fire safety was a delight.
Looking ahead, tomorrow is a Curriculum Day, where staff will focus on:- Setting student achievement targets in our 2025 Annual Implementation Plan- Developing rich Maths assessment tasks- Writing Individual Education Plans and preparing for Student Support Group meetings- Planning engaging lessons for the remainder of the term
A huge thank you to our students, staff, and families for making this such a fantastic week. Your passion and dedication continue to make Le Page a vibrant and thriving place of learning.
Wishing everyone a restful and enjoyable weekend!
Warm regards,
George Danson
