Wonderful 1

The 0ne-der Stars 1s

Term 1 Week 6 2025 -  Friday 7th Marc

What have we been up to?

We’ve had a fantastic two weeks of swimming! The kids did an amazing job, and a huge thank you to our parent helpers for their support.

In the classroom, we’re working hard to complete our class WIG while maintaining our daily routines. In literacy, we’ve been enjoying The Cranky Bear series, analysing its structure and illustrations to understand character body language and problem-solving.

In Maths, we’ve been introduced to Numicon, which has been a big hit! The students have loved exploring with it and using it to make number bonds to 10.

Great learning all around!

Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

What is coming up?

Reading  + Writing

In the next fortnight, we’ll continue exploring The Cranky Bear series. Our focus will be on its structure, which will help us start planning and writing our own stories towards the end of the term. The students are excited to use what they’ve learned to create their own unique characters and plots!

Maths

In Maths, we are working with numbers 1 to 40—identifying them on a number line and using number lines to support addition. We will also continue exploring Numicon, using it to strengthen our understanding of number relationships and addition strategies. The students are loving these hands-on learning experiences!

Inquiry & Science

This fortnight, we are exploring weather patterns and Indigenous seasons. Students will learn how to read the weather, understand seasonal changes from an Indigenous perspective, and create their own weather wheels to showcase their learning. We’re looking forward to some great discussions and discoveries!
