Monash Council Rubbish Audit

A representative from Monash Council met with of Sustainability Captains and their 'Amazing Green Team'.

What’s in the bins? Waste Audit Workshop:

the students completed an audit activity sorting rubbish into waste separation stations using gloves.

The activity included counting individual items to work out if we were using our bins correctly. It was found we were doing a great job with recycling but could do better putting all paper in our Visy bins.

Food Waste Recycling Refresh – Whole school assembly:

We also listened to celine the representative talk to the whole school at  assembly. She spoke about the importance of composting and showed the school what happens to waste and how it turns back into soil.

This term we plan to learn more from Celine and work closely with the council to create '2025 Actions for the Earth'.
