Grade 3

Literacy Block

In literacy, students have continued their work on World Rivers. They have investigated rivers from around the globe, such as the Yangtze, Amazon, Mississippi and the closer to home Murray-Darling River. 

Additionally, students have been developing their reading fluency and providing feedback for others. In handwriting, students have been revisting i family letters such as i, l and j and clockwise letters such as n and m.

Spelling

Students started their spelling program last week. Students will have spelling lessons for 25 minutes four times a week.

Numeracy

The grade 3 students have completed their first unit on counting and place value. They are now moving onto addition and subtraction, focusing on basic facts before moving towards adding and subtracting two and three digit numbers.
