Administration News
Welcome to 2025 at Elderslie High School.
As we progress through the school year, we would like to remind you of our Attendance Policy:
Absent from School:
If your child is unable to attend school due to illness, family commitments, appointments or any other reasons, please notify us as soon as possible. You can do this by:
• Calling the school office to report the absence
• Sending an email to the school with your child’s name year group and the reason for the absence
• Respond to the text message you will receive once the rolls are marked
• Record the absence on the ‘Sentral for Parents’ app
Upon the student’s return to school, they should bring any medical certificates or notes to the school office.
Late Arrivals to School
We understand that there can be various reasons for arriving late, including:
• Morning traffic or transportation issues
• Family commitments or unforeseen circumstances
• Medical appointments
• Difficulty in waking up or getting ready
If your child arrives late, we kindly ask that you to provide a note from home explaining the reason for their lateness. Your child must sign in at the Student Office when they arrive at school. The arrival time will be recorded against their attendance.
Early Departures from School
Similarly, the procedure for an early departure from school requires a note from home detailing the reason and time of their early exit. This policy helps us keep track of students’ whereabouts and ensures their safety throughout the school day. Students who leave early are required to be collected by an adult from the school and are not able to make their own way home or to an appointment. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Medication at School
If your child needs to take medication at school, this needs to be administered under the supervision of a staff member. Documentation must be completed and medication needs to be provided in webster packs. This is then stored securely at school. This is the procedure regardless of the medication to be administered. Please contact the office to request the paperwork if this is required.
Year 7 Labcoats
We hope that your Year 7 student is settling in nicely to high school. It’s an exciting time of transition, and we are thrilled to have your child as part of our school community.
As part of their learning experience, all Year 7 students require a lab coat for science classes. We kindly ask that you arrange payment for your child’s lab coat by the end of February via SchoolBytes or payment made directly at the student office. This will allow us to place the order in a timely manner and ensure that all students have their lab coats ready for use.
If you have any questions or need further information about our adminsitration procedures, please feel free to contact the school office.
