Grade Point Average (GPA) Reporting

We are pleased to announce that GPA reports have been published this week. These reports have a new, consistent format from Year 7 through to Year 12, and they are designed to provide clear and comprehensive feedback on your child's academic progress. We encourage all families to review these reports and use them as a tool to set new learning goals for the remainder of the Term.

For the families new to our college, the Grade Point Average (GPA) is a reporting tool where the student's levels of effort and application to their subjects are measured. This framework allows teachers, families, and students to collaborate in promoting positive learning habits and behaviours. At Norwood Secondary College, GPA reports are completed once a Term, providing a 'snapshot' of student progress during that period against the following four areas of student achievement:

  • demonstrates an understanding of key knowledge and skills

  • consistently aspires to reach their personal best

  • completes all set homework tasks by the due date

  • displays respectful classroom behaviour

We believe that by offering these reports, we can help our students develop the skills and motivation needed for long-term success, and we encourage families to schedule a conference time with their child's classroom teachers to discuss these progress reports.
