The past three weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, filled with exciting events and enriching educational experiences for our students. We recently held our annual Swimming Carnival, and our interschool sports days have brought students together for activities like cricket, volleyball, and tennis.
Now, as we transition into the next phase of the term, our students are diligently preparing for their first major assessments. We are proud of their hard work and determination, and we look forward to supporting them in achieving their best.
Congratulations to Amy Robertson whose work was accepted into Top Designs! Top Designs is an annual exhibition held at the Melbourne Museum, showcasing the exceptional work of Victoria's VCE and VCE VET design students. The event celebrates the innovation and creativity of students who have completed studies in various design-related subjects, including Media, Product Design and Technology, Systems Engineering, Theatre Studies, Visual Communication Design, and several VCE VET programs such as Creative and Digital Media, Engineering Studies, Furnishing, Integrated Technologies, and Music (Sound Production).
You can read more information about Amy's project and experience below:
"Last year, as part of VCE-VET Engineering Studies, I was required to research, design and produce a metal project. I chose to make a functional model metal lathe that was inspired by my father’s casted model lathe he made as an apprentice. The main objective of the project was to construct it using as many recycled materials as possible, sourced from both my home and Ringwood Training.
In November I entered my project into the VCAA 2025 Top Design Awards and was lucky enough to be 1 of the 143 students to be shortlisted from over 1000 applicants. My project was 1 of 4 Engineering Studies projects to be selected and is 1 of 77 to be exhibited at the Melbourne Museum from the 29th March to 20th July this year."

Our senior students have been actively participating in study skills sessions during Mentoring this Term. These sessions have been designed to equip our students with the tools they need to succeed in their academic studies throughout the year.
In these sessions, our students have learned how to create weekly study plans, use SAC notifications to their advantage, and understand the most successful strategies for ongoing revision. These skills are invaluable in helping our students manage their time and stay on top of their studies.
We extend our thanks to Maddy Sweeney, our Year 11 Coordinator, for her dedication and ongoing work in this space. Her commitment to supporting our students is greatly appreciated.
Additionally, students have been introduced to Microsoft To-Do in Mentoring, which has now replaced our printed diaries. This online platform offers a seamless way for students to organise their daily tasks, stay productive, and manage their time efficiently. For more information about Microsoft To-Do, we encourage you to access the following link.
We would like to remind all parents and guardians of the critical importance of regular school attendance. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in your child's academic success. Each lesson builds on previous learning, and missing even a single lesson can make it challenging for students to catch up. By ensuring your child attends every class, you are helping them build a strong foundation for future learning and assessment.
And if a student does become unwell during the school day, they may be directed to the Health Centre and monitored by staff. Depending on the nature of their symptoms, staff may contact parents/carers or an emergency contact person to ask them to collect the student. Students are not to contact their family directly. They must attend the Health Centre and our nurse will make contact if deemed necessary.
