VCE Vocational Major

Sam Fox - VCE VM Coordinator

Our two VCE Vocation Major classes have started the 2025 school year extremely well.  This VCE pathway has been designed to offer applied learning to students wishing to pursue alternative pathways after secondary school.

Over the last two weeks, both classes have been involved in full-day training sessions provided by the organisation Educlick.  Our Year 11 class completed the White Card training and obtained their industry-recognised accreditation.  This training certifies individuals have completed the general safety induction training needed for them to work on construction sites.

In addition, our Year 12 VM class completed their Responsible Service of Alcohol training and Certificate in Food Handling.  This training includes both practical and theory-based activities around the legal responsibilities of working with food and alcohol.  Both classes conducted themselves admirably, demonstrating the College values throughout the day.

Year 12 VM Clean Up Australia Day activities

On Tuesday, 4th March, our Year 12 Vocational Major students, along with their teacher Mr Jono Flack, participated in Clean Up Australia Day. This year was particularly special as it marked the 35th anniversary of the event, providing students with a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a cleaner, healthier community while fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.

The clean-up initially focused on the school grounds, but with additional time available, students extended their efforts to a section of the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail. The event was both efficient and effective, resulting in the removal of a significant amount of litter from the environment.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students conducted themselves on the day. They demonstrated responsibility, leadership, and teamwork, making a positive impact on both the school and the wider community.
