From the

Leader of Year 11 Wellbeing

Mrs Michelle Aurelius

I would like to congratulate Year 11 on a fantastic start to the new school year. I am so impressed how well presented our students are and how respectful they have been towards their teachers and peers.

I spoke to Year 11 on their first day and explained the 3 High Expectations I have for them.

1.  RESPECT: Yourself, Others, and your Community. Wear your uniform with pride, and conduct yourself in a professional manner, treat others the way you want to be treated, and have respect towards your surroundings at school and when out in the community.

2.  Do your PERSONAL BEST in everything you do: this involves trying your best, participating in all areas of the College, attending classes and applying yourself, studying, completing Assessments on time and with effort.

3.  ATTENDANCE: It is an expectation students attend school each day and arrive on time before 8.35am. If students are absent from school, they can not do their personal best.

Your child’s Pastoral Care teacher will play an important role in their development this year. The Pastoral Care teacher should be your first point of contact for any concerns regarding day to day matters. The Year 11 Pastoral Care teachers for 2025 are:

11-1: Ms Jennifer Benson

11-2: Mr Rod Forward

11-3: Mrs Grace Train/ Mrs Catherine Parker

11-4: Mrs Bronwen Cartwright

11-5: Mrs Julie Leonard/Mrs Lea Nelson

11-6: Mr Jason Smith

11-7: Mr Darrin Munro

I believe students have settled in well and are on the right study path for their HSC. However if your son/daughter still wishes to change their course of study now is the time. Students have until week 4 this term to see Mrs Slater, our Leader of Learning to change their subjects or pattern of study. Throughout the year, we review every student’s academic performance. We need to ensure that the students are in the right courses and at the right levels, so your child has every opportunity to succeed in their HSC year to the best of their ability. To ensure we are heading towards success, we will acknowledge students doing well and follow up accordingly with students who are experiencing any difficulty.

Some upcoming key  dates for our Year 11 students are:

  • Tuesday, 18 February -  Special Guest Speaker Brett Sanders on the topic “Consent”
  • Friday, 21 February - College Swimming Carnival (students are expected to attend)
  • Monday, 24 February - Year 11 parent information night
  • Weeks 9-10 - Year 11 assessment block

I’m looking forward to meeting all our Year 11  parents at our Information evening!
