Mr Nathan Smith

Welcome to another year in sport at St Aloysius College. It has been an extremely busy start to the year to get sport underway, including Thursday sport, CCC representative trials and having our swimming carnival. For future reference, please follow the links that provide further information within Sydney and NSW:

School sport

Sport is well and truly underway with many students representing the school in grade sports each week across various venues and playing with tremendous heart and spirit. We have the following teams competing:

  • Junior Girls and Boys Touch Football
  • Junior Girls and Boys Basketball
  • Junior Girls and Boys Water Polo
  • Senior Girls and Boys Touch Football
  • Senior Girls and Boys Basketball

Representative sport

Congratulations to the following students for their efforts thus far being selected for CCC or competing in Sydney wide competitions:

  • Will Taylor (year 12) - representing CCC Cricket and being selected in the NSW All Schools Open Cricket Team for the THIRD year in a row.
  • Lily Thearle (Year 12) - representing the NSW Indigenous Netball Team with further honours being selected into the Australian Team

Swimming carnival

The College’s swimming carnival will be held on Friday, 21 February at Caringbah Leisure Centre. Due to the increased students and to give all swimmers an opportunity to race, the day will commence at 9am for most students.

For those competitive swimmers wishing to compete in the 100m FLY, 100m BK and 100m BRST events, these will be conducted from 8am to ensure every swimmer can swim their best at the carnival. More information will be communicated shortly.

Feel free to contact myself or the school if your child succeeds out of school competition.

Yours in sport

Nathan Smith
