Attendance

WNPS – School Attendance & Student Absence Learning Plans
At Williamstown North Primary School, we know that every day of learning counts. Regular attendance is vital for your child’s academic progress, their social connections, and their overall sense of belonging at school. Even short absences can have a big impact on their learning and confidence.
We ask for your support in ensuring that your child attends school every day, unless they are genuinely unwell, or have an approved absence.
Parent responsibilities for absences:
If your child is absent, it is your responsibility to enter the absence and reason on Compass.
If your family is planning a holiday during school time, you must notify the classroom teacher in advance, and provide the exact dates your child will be away.
Student Absence Learning Plans:
For family holidays that extend for one week or more, the classroom teacher will prepare a Student Absence Learning Plan to help your child continue their learning while away.
This plan must be signed off by the Principal, or our Wellbeing and Attendance Officer before it is given to families.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in keeping us informed. By working together, we can make sure that students remain connected to their learning, even when absences occur.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping every student thrive.
Warm regards,
Matt Feeley
