Principal's Report

Term 3 Week 5
Dear Williamstown North Primary School Families,
What an absolute joy it was walking around the school last night and experiencing both our Grade 6s leading our 36th Reading & Writing Together is Magic event, and all our students confidently presenting their poetry in front of family and friends. A massive thank you to our teachers for all their organisation and preparation that was involved in making yesterday a success, particularly Kaitlyn Hayes, our Literacy Leading Teacher.
In other Book Week news, the book fair will be open after school today, and before school tomorrow, Friday 22 August.
We look forward to seeing you all at our whole school parade, taking place around Tasmania at 9:30am tomorrow morning.
Last week, we attended the excursion to Bundoora Farm alongside our Prep students, and it was lovely to see the nervous excitement as our students interacted with all the animals. My favourite was definitely meeting the Llama, pictured below, and the resulting hilarity and laughter caused by feeding him.
The experience of potting snow peas in their own little planting pots made from newspaper was a great opportunity for students to get their hands dirty, and further strengthen their understanding of plant life cycles. Thank you to our wonderful Prep teaching team for planning and coordinating this learning opportunity for our students.
Next week, a random selection of families will be chosen to complete the Parent Opinion Survey. A link will be emailed to you to complete the survey, and it is an opportunity to provide feedback and shape the direction of our school.
