Tinnies for Vinnies – Competing for a good cause

School Captains from local senior schools have been meeting up to discuss how they can increase interactions between the schools and contribute positively to the community. To begin this project, Monivae invited College to join their Tinnies for Vinnies fundraiser. Each year, the St Vincents de Paul can drive provides meals for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. This fundraiser is run by dedicated volunteers who provide over 780,000 meals each year for people in need. Monivae runs this as a House competition.

Sophie and Jack have set the challenge for College to join in the competition.  All students are invited to donate one, two, or more cans to help those in need during the winter months. The donations can include any canned food, such as soups, spaghetti, baked beans, milo and tinned meals. Although we have been asked to avoid chickpeas and lentils. Our collection stations are in the Senior School front office, Middle Years Centre and Junior School front reception.

For some added inspiration, we would love to take out the new tin can trophy, which Monivae's metal work department is working hard to create.
