TERM 3 WEEK 6 2025
We have hit the halfway mark of another extremely busy term. Sports Day is quickly approaching, and it is going to be an amazing day full of exciting events and student/community participation. We are looking for volunteers and donations for our Sports Day BBQ and Bake Sale, so please respond to the survey on the next page if you are able to help out.
Congratulations to our Knockout Boys Soccer Team, who last week won through to the state finals, which will be held at Service FM Staduim, Gepps Cross on Wednesday 17th September. Semi-final at 9:30am, and if we win, the grand final is at 12:30. This is a huge achievement by the boys and Coach Starr.
We have also selected 4-6 students participating in District Athletics Day tomorrow and Girls and Boys AFL Teams participating in the Westies Cup over the coming week.
A huge amount of sports are happening at the moment, and our students always represent LNPS with pride.
Learning Conferences
We are now in the final week of Learning Conferences, and it has been wonderful to see students sharing their learning journey with confidence and pride. These conferences are an important opportunity for students to reflect on their progress and set clear goals in English, Maths, and their Learner Qualities.
It has been fantastic to watch students take ownership of their learning, articulate their achievements, and discuss their next steps with families and teachers. The high level of student engagement highlights the value of these conferences in building responsibility and agency for every learner at LNPS.
At LNPS, we believe that learning is strongest when children feel connected, supported, and happy. Each year, students in Years 4 to 6 take part in the Wellbeing and Engagement Check, a statewide survey that helps us understand how students are feeling about school life.
This year’s results show that our students are highly engaged in their learning and feel a deep sense of belonging within our school community. Importantly, this brilliant data reflects our four year focus on embedding our school values and learner qualities, which continue to shape the way our students interact, learn, and grow together.
Engagement with School
100% of students said they feel supported by their teachers and have strong relationships with them.
94% of students reported that they feel cared for and respected by both teachers and peers.
92% of students feel they belong to a group of friends and fit in at LNPS.
These results highlight the strength of our school culture one where teachers build trust and respect, and where children feel connected and valued.
Emotional Wellbeing
98% of students say they generally feel happy.
92% report feeling satisfied with life.
Only 8% of students reported that they frequently feel sad.
Across year levels, the data is consistently positive, with 100% of Year 6 students reporting they feel happy at school. This reinforces that wellbeing is central to the student experience at LNPS.
How We Achieve This Together
These positive outcomes are the result of the dedication of every LNPS staff member. Each teacher contributes by:
Building strong and respectful relationships with their students.
Creating safe, inclusive classrooms where every child feels they belong.
Teaching not only academic skills but also social and emotional skills.
Embedding our school values and learner qualities into daily teaching and learning.
Collaborating as a team sharing insights, supporting each other, and keeping student wellbeing at the heart of practice.
Next Steps
We are proud of these results, but we also know that wellbeing is an ongoing journey. At LNPS, we will continue to listen to students, families, and staff so that every child feels safe, happy, and ready to thrive not only in their learning, but in life.
Together, we are shaping a school community where belonging, happiness, and success are at the core of every child’s experience.
