A huge thank you and shout-out to all the parents, family members, coaches, and volunteers across all three schools! We know that these types of days are not possible without you! So, thank you to those who came along to support and helped make the day a success. The turnout from all three schools created a fantastic atmosphere!
Well done, boys, bring on the Grand Final!
Evolution Dance Competition
🌟 Congratulations to Michael Morabito! 🌟
We are incredibly proud of Year 6 student, Michael Morabito, who recently competed at Evolution! A prestigious dance competition. Michael performed in three solo categories: Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Jazz, and placed in all of them. An outstanding accomplishment!
A special highlight was Michael’s Contemporary solo, where he achieved the highest score in his division (Under 12’s) across the state. This performance has earned him a place at Nationals, where he will represent South Australia on the big stage.
Michael’s dedication, talent, and passion for dance shine through in his performances, and we are so proud of his achievements. We wish him the very best of luck as he prepares for Nationals!
Student Voice - Michael's Take!
For those who know me, they know I love to dance! On August 14, I competed in a national competition, Evolution, as a soloist. I performed 3 dances, a Commercial Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop. I was fortunate to place in all my routines but in addition to just placing 1st, 2nd or third I did exceptionally well in my scoring for contemporary for the under 12 division, gaining the highest score within the state for that genre.
As a result, I achieved a spot in the top 10 and a place in the National Championships which will be held in 2026 in the Gold Coast. I can't explain the feeling I felt, but you couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I could feel my cheeks getting sore and dancing on the inside. I spotted my Mum in the crowd and I think her smile was as big as mine.
I train a minimum of 10 hours a week and work really hard, so I was very pleased with my efforts on the day. I compete because I love the excitement, strangely the nerves and of course seeing my peers and other dancers do what they love to do. I am grateful to have such a supportive family who encourages me to follow my dreams. I hope that one day I can make it in the arts world and get to say that I love my Job.
