Attendance

Let's Arrive On Time —
Every Day Counts at Banyan Fields!
At Banyan Fields Primary School, we’re committed to helping every child start their day feeling connected, confident, and ready to learn.
🕒 School starts at 8:45am.
🧑🏫Classroom lessons begin at 9:00am sharp.
🕞School finishes at 3:10pm.
Late Arrivals:
Any student arriving after 8:45am must be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian to receive a late pass.
Students who are regularly late will be supported by the school in partnership with families, with follow-up calls and encouragement.
Being late means students miss important moments with their teacher, their classmates, and the start of learning for the day.
📩 If your child is absent, please log it via Compass or email: absence@bfps.vic.edu.au
📅 For long-term absences (like holidays), please inform the office and your child’s teacher in advance via a note, phone call, or email.
👨👩👧👦 Tips for Supporting Attendance at Home:
- Try to avoid appointments or holidays during school hours or term time.
- Talk to your child about their day and what they’re learning.
- Celebrate good attendance — arriving on time is a win!
- Keep daily routines consistent — especially mornings.
- Have a set time for breakfast to start the day smoothly.
Together, we can build great habits that support learning, confidence, and success — every single day!
