Do all that you do with love~

Dear Families,

I can't believe how quickly the term has gone and we are already nearing the end of week 6. It seems that every week this term has had a special celebration, theme or activity taking place! I know that juggling all of the events can be challenging so thank you for your ongoing support of everything we do at St Therese's, a lot of this couldn't be done without you.

Week 3 saw our Foundation students celebrate 100 days of school with the theme 100 days brighter. I hope you all saw the feature in the Cranbourne Star News celebrating how bright our little people are shining. They have grown so much since their first day of school, not just academically but socially and emotionally. They make all of the staff smile with their bubbly personalities and eagerness to learn. Week 4 was another opportunity for the Foundation students to dress up, this time celebrating Milo's Birthday.

Our swimming program came and went for the Middle and Senior students and they should be congratulated for their organisation and resilience in the pool. Many of our children don't have swimming lessons out of school so this program is especially important for them, building water safety awareness and confidence. Our Junior program is underway now and we look forward to celebrating the achievements of these students as their lessons come to an end.

Thank you to everyone who shared in our Book Week celebrations. We sold over $3000 of books through our annual Book Fair which means we have just over $800 to spend on new books for our library. Vanessa Cowan, our librarian has done an amazing job this year in making the library a more inviting place for the children, celebrating and sharing new purchases and taking into account the children's preferences for borrowing. She will be looking at borrowing trends and requests from the students to purchase new books for us. Our Book Character Parade was another success, tied in with our Grandparents Day celebrations. The feedback from our visitors was wonderful - the children love the opportunity to visit the Book Fair with their special visitors and show them around their learning space and we enjoy the opportunity to spoil the grandparents of our community with morning tea. We wrapped up Book Week with a special Story Time and Cocoa evening - thank you to the families who attended, this was our most popular one yet with over 30 families and approximately 100 children joining us.

I'd like to say the next 3 weeks will be a little quieter but I don't think that's likely - we have Father's Day Stall and Father's Day Brekkie and Liturgy next week, one of our most popular events on the school calendar. Please RSVP to the PAM that has been sent out so we can cater accordingly. We look forward to sharing brekkie with you!

Staffing News

I am delighted to share that Kirsten Beshara, one of our ESO team, has taken on the role of Canteen Manager. She is doing a great job keeping the children fed and will be sharing a short survey with you next term as we consider making a few changes to how we operate the canteen and what we provide for the children. We will also be seeking parent volunteers to help out on a rostered basis, please keep an eye out for future communication.

The children in Foundation had a special visitor not so long ago, Mrs Malini Tyne popped in to say hello and to share the news that she and her husband, Steve, have welcomed a baby girl to their family. Congratulations Malini and Steve on the arrival of Elliana.
