Crossing Supervision Herald St
We would like to inform our school community that there will be no school crossing supervisor at Herald Street next week due to staff shortages.
Please take extra care when travelling to and from school via this crossing. We encourage families to discuss safe road-crossing practices with their children and consider alternative routes where possible.
Student safety is our highest priority, and we appreciate your support in ensuring all children arrive and leave school safely during this time. We will advise our community as soon as supervision at the Herald Street crossing resumes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Bullying No Way Week – Our Commitment at Cheltenham East Primary School
At Cheltenham East Primary School, we take bullying very seriously. Every child has the right to feel safe, valued, and respected at school, and we are committed to ensuring that our learning environment reflects these values every day.
During Bullying No Way Week, we have been reminding our students that bullying is never okay – and that when they speak up, their voices will be heard. We want our children and young people to know that their feelings matter and that any report of bullying will be treated respectfully and with priority.
We understand that sometimes students may first confide in a friend before telling an adult, which means that when they do speak to a teacher, the behaviour may have been happening for some time. That’s why our staff are trained to listen carefully, respond calmly, and follow the school’s policy and procedures when any concern is raised.
When a student tells us about bullying, we:
- Reassure them that it is never okay to be bullied and that it is not their fault.
- Listen without judgement or interruption, giving them the time to share their whole story.
- Ask questions to understand when, where, and how the behaviour has occurred, and who may have witnessed it.
- Work with the student to ensure they feel safe in the short term while we investigate.
Follow our established school processes to address the issue and provide feedback to the student.
It is important to understand that while some behaviours may not meet the definition of bullying, they can still be harmful and will be addressed appropriately. Our focus is always on supporting respectful relationships and building a safe, inclusive school community.
Bullying No Way Week is an important reminder that preventing and responding to bullying is everyone’s responsibility – staff, students, parents, and carers. Together, we can ensure that Cheltenham East Primary School remains a place where kindness, respect, and cooperation are at the heart of everything we do.

Year 1 and 2 Concert
On Wednesday, our Year 1 and 2 students took to the stage and delivered a truly memorable concert. The performances were full of energy, creativity, and joy – a wonderful showcase of the students’ hard work and enthusiasm.
A special thank you goes to Mrs Digby and Mrs Spain for their dedication, time, and preparation in bringing the concert to life. We also extend our thanks to all the Year 1 and 2 teachers who have supported rehearsals and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. Your teamwork and commitment made this event such a success.
It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance, sharing in the excitement and pride of the students. These moments create lasting memories for both children and parents, and we are so pleased to have been able to celebrate together.
We now look forward with great anticipation to the Foundation concert on Tuesday, September 3 – another chance to enjoy the creativity and talent of our youngest students.
Ramp Access and Visitor Entry During the Day
From 9:10am to 3:30pm, all visitors must report to the school office upon arrival.
To assist parents with prams, the pedestrian gate on Coolac Street gate next to the carpark entrance will remain unlocked during the day. Please ensure you close the gate securely behind you after entering.
The Team Kids gate will be locked during these hours. Visitors should enter via the staff carpark and proceed to the main entrance to sign in at the office.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure school environment.
