Science Years P-6

Science Week
During Week 4, Brookside P-9 College celebrated Science Week! This year’s theme was ‘Decoding the Universe’. Throughout the week we held many events across the College to celebrate.
In Prep – 6, many Parents, Guardians and Families celebrated Science Week through attending their child’s classroom to participate in a science activity. Thank you to all of the families that attended the open classrooms, our students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning and activities with you.
Secondary Students, Parents and Guardians were invited to participate in a science activity run by Ms. Warren, Mr. Golz and Edward. The experiment we conducted was making ice cream using cream, sugar and dry ice! Everyone who participated in this activity enjoyed being a Scientist for this session and enjoyed the treat at the end. 7-9 Students also took part in a daily quiz during homegroup where they were asked a series of science questions to answer. Congratulations to Andy in Year 8 who correctly answered all of the science week questions!
During the lead up to the week we also held a Science Poster competition which was open to all Prep to Year 9 Students. Mr. Golz received many entries which demonstrated the theme of ‘Decoding the Universe’.
Congratulations to the following students who were awarded as the winning entries for their sector:
P-2: Elliot
3-4: Danica
5-6: Kayla
7-9: William
A special thank you to the school community and the amazing Brookside Teachers for making Science Week such a success!
