Boite Choir

This year, a wonderful group of students from Grades 3-6 joined the school choir to take part in the Boite Schools Chorus. The theme for this year’s performance was "Mai Fali Eh! – Songs and Stories of Timor Leste".

Since Term 2, our dedicated choir students have been giving up their Friday lunchtimes, along with attending extra rehearsals, to learn and practise eight beautiful songs in preparation for the big event.

On Tuesday 12th August, we joined over 300 students from schools across Victoria at Melbourne Town Hall for a rehearsal and a spectacular performance.

We were very honoured to have President of Timor Leste, José Ramos-Horta attend the performance and make a speech to the students on stage. Elsie from Grade 5 represented our school in a meet-and-greet session, and was given the opportunity to present His Excellency with a gift on behalf of the organisation.

I am incredibly proud of our students for their commitment, connection, and courage throughout this inspiring project.

Special thank you to Virginia Nelson for helping the students learn the songs and coming along to support. Shoutout to Gregory Dickson also for coming along to support on the performance day.
