From the Principal

Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

George’s Return to Work

George will continue his leave for the remainder of term 3. He will return at the start of term 4 on Monday the 6th of October. Jarrod Bradley will continue to work in the office to support me and the Le Page team. I am very thankful for the support of the staff and community while George has been on leave. We have a wonderful community!

School Review

Over the last couple of weeks we have been completing our school review. This has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, reflecting on the last four years and looking forward to the next four years and our direction. What was evident to the external panel of four people (two principals, the independent reviewer and Kingston network Senior Education Improvement Leader) was the culture of our school. They highlighted the robust wellbeing processes in place along with the 7 habits as the basis for such a positive school culture. Future directions they highlighted for us that will be built into our next strategic plan is improving attendance data and aligning our teaching practices to the new Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, while sustaining our high levels of student engagement and connectedness. Our new plan will be available sometime in term 4 and I look forward to sharing it with the community. I want to thank all the staff, parents and students who were involved in the process.

Garden Beds

Planting has started happening in our new garden bed areas between the BER building and Art room. It will add to the overall aesthetic of that area and has minimised the muddy area which happens over the winter months. Children have been reminded to not walk through this area so that it can establish and look lovely for our community. I would appreciate it if we could all be vigilant about this. I extend my thanks to Cam Brand (parent of Lucy in Year 2) for all his hard work with the new garden!

School Disco

Our social and fundraising team are all ready for the school disco tonight. Thank-you to the parent volunteers for making this happen for our students. Information has been dispersed through Compass about the details of tonight’s event. I hope everyone has a fun night!

House Athletics

Just a reminder that our house athletics is next Monday 1st of September. We welcome families to come along to cheer and support the students participating. It is always a fun whole school event. All are welcome to wear their house colours for the day (parents included!). Just make sure you have appropriate footwear and warm clothes as we all know what Melbourne spring can be like! A reminder that the house colours and names are

Alcott - Blue

Fox - Green

Barty - Yellow

Mills - Red

These houses were renamed about 3 years ago by our students. Alcott, after Dylan Alcott, former Australian wheelchair tennis player. Fox, after Jessica Fox, Olympic champion slalom canoeist. Barty, after Ash Barty, former professional tennis player and Mills, after Patty Mills, professional basketball player.

PSW now have our sports tops available for any families wishing to purchase one. These can be worn on sports days like house athletics and when the children have PE. I would like to thank Renate Axford (parent of Hazel and Evan)

Parent Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver/ Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.

Anyone who completes the survey is welcome to send a screenshot of the completed survey to le.page.ps@education.vic.gov.au to go in the running to win one of two $50 PSW vouchers to be drawn at the final assembly this term.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

To access the survey please go to https://research.orima.com/parent

You will be asked to enter the school’s name and enter a pin, which is 919685

Happy News

Lastly, I would like to congratulate two staff members who are expecting babies early next year. Mr. Earl and his wife Maddie are expecting their second child in February 2026. Ms. Judit and her husband Dom are also expecting their second child in early 2026. We wish them all the very best on this exciting adventure!

Stay warm over the weekend, I think it is going to be a bit of a wild one!
