Term 3 Week 6 - 29th August 2025
We’ve had a fun yet busy couple of weeks. Preps have been LOVING the science experiments we’ve been doing in class. They have been a great success and been a great catalyst for their writing of Scientific Reports in literacy.
I am beyond proud of all preps who are challenging themselves by begging to write CVC words independently. It is these moments when it starts to come together and you can see each child’s delight in their achievements that make all their hard work come together.
School disco is tonight so I hope the Preps dance the night away and have a ball!
In addition, the following events will also be happening. Stay tuned for more details…
- House Athletics Day
- Father’s Day Stall
Please continue to refrain from your child bringing toys into school. It is very distracting to all children. We have fidgets at school that children can use if need be.
Thank you for your support in this.
Literacy
Preps have had a fantastic time conducting new experiments each week and then writing up their scientific reports. For the rest of the term Preps will move onto Procedural writing where we will explore, make and eat a different recipe each week. There is a list of ingredients we will use on compass and below if your child has any allergies please be sure to let Narelle know via email ASAP.

Maths:
We have conducted some assessments with the preps this week. This is to check for understanding of the content taught this term. We are very pleased to see such positive results. We have been enjoying various fact family games at the end of our lessons on the computer as a class.
Inquiry/Science
This term in Inquiry, we will be exploring Indigenous culture, with a focus on the connections First Nations people have with place and Country. Students will learn about the importance of land, storytelling, symbols, and traditions, and how these elements are deeply connected to identity and community. Through stories, and class discussions, students will begin to understand and appreciate the rich history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
