Basketball
As a reminder, for all home games we must supply TWO parents to assist with scoring. No warmups will start until this occurs.
Saturday proved to be a tough day for our Division 1 Basketballers, with losses across all A games and the First V, against Redlands. Keep working hard boys - your effort and commitment will pay off tenfold.
There were some very strong wins in the lower divisions, the 17B, 17C and Open C teams all had very strong wins against Oakhill College. The game of the day was between two SPC teams, the mighty Open Gold and Open Black‘s fighting for bragging rights. Well done to the Open Blacks who stole the game from the Mighty Golds at the very end. This was a very fitting welcome for their new coach Ms Touma. Good luck next time to the Golds!
Baseball
The First IX came agonisingly close to picking up their first win of the season when they took on the very strong Thornleigh Rangers. The SPC boys took a five-run lead early on but in the end were not able to hold on. While the results did not go our way, their hard work and progress was clear to see.
Cricket
A tough weekend for our ISA Cricketers as both the First and Second XI went down to St Augustine’s College and St Pius X College. Well done to the 16 Blue and 13 Black teams who both managed to pick up wins in the Thunder League. Byron Stewart was huge in the 13 Black game, scoring 64 runs not out to help his team to victory.
Touch Football
The Senior A Touch Football team had a huge victory on Saturday, beating Scots All Saints College 12 to 2. A draw for the Year 7/8C Team, a win for the Yr 7/8B team and another win for the Yr 7/8A team was a pretty successful day for SPC Touch Football.
Golf
The weather last Saturday afternoon had a significant impact on the round, with our golfers experiencing almost every season in one day at Massey Park Golf Course. Despite the conditions, our players didn’t slow down, they soldiered on and still managed to secure two impressive wins. Jack McDonald’s undefeated streak with the new club also continues.
