Wellbeing - Senior School

During Year 9’s YCM last Wednesday, representatives from Batyr visited the school to deliver an engaging and thought-provoking presentation on mental health awareness. The session encouraged students to courageously speak up, look out for their mates, and challenge multiple stigmas surrounding mental illness.

Through real and relatable stories, the speakers highlighted the importance of seeking help and maintaining positive wellbeing. Their message, that “it’s okay to feel the need to speak up” resonated with many students.

Various students described the session as “eye-opening” and one student said, “It made me realise that a lot of people go through tough times, and it’s important to talk about it.” Another student shared, “The Batyr team made it easy to understand mental health in a way that actually connects with us, as teenagers.”

Overall, the Batyr presentation was a powerful reminder that we all have a role in creating a more supportive and understanding community at St Patrick’s College.

2025 College Cup

Congratulations to Berg House on being crowned the 2025 College Cup Champions by one of the smallest margins on record. The victory was well deserved, reflecting consistent involvement and performances at carnivals and other co-curricular activities, and student application in various facets of College life. To celebrate this achievement, Berg House students enjoyed a College Cup Rewards Barbeque luncheon on Tuesday 18 November, prepared by the Year 11 Hospitality class and Mrs Tripodi.

As we celebrate Berg’s win, we also turn our focus to the year ahead. In 2026, all students are strongly encouraged to participate wholeheartedly in House events, demonstrate positive behaviour, and actively engage in all aspects of College life. Whether it be through academic effort, sporting involvement, service activities, co-curricular engagement or simply demonstrating pride in their House, every action contributes to the final tally.

The College Cup is not just a competition but a reflection of the strong community spirit and character we aspire to at the College. Each student contributes meaningfully to their House’s success, and we look forward to seeing all students continue to grow and challenge themselves next year.

Congratulations once again to Berg House!
