CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

Last week, some of our Year 10 students travelled to Copeton Dam for their annual retreat. The theme — “Shine Your Light” — was chosen by the students themselves and shaped all their reflections and activities across the two days.
Students explored what it means to shine as leaders: discovering their gifts, understanding the challenges that can dim their light, and learning how to encourage others to shine alongside them. These discussions will help prepare them for their role as the senior student leaders of 2026.
Importantly, the Shine Your Light theme will carry forward into the 2026 school year, becoming a guiding focus for our whole school community. Next year, our Year 11 students will lead this theme across classes, liturgies, and community events, inspiring others to shine with kindness, courage, and faith.
We are incredibly proud of the way the students embraced this experience and look forward to seeing their light shine throughout the year ahead.

Our group of Year 10 students, accompanied by Mrs Guest and Mr Baldwin, are currently in Melbourne taking part in the Australian Catholic Youth Festival — a vibrant national gathering celebrating faith, hope, and the joy of being young in the Church.
The pilgrimage began on Sunday with the Opening Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral, a powerful and prayerful celebration that set the tone for the days ahead. After Mass, our pilgrims joined thousands of young people for the 5 km walk from the cathedral to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre — a symbolic journey of faith, unity, and hope.
In a very special honour, the Armidale Diocese was chosen to carry the World Youth Day Cross and Icon during the pilgrimage walk. Two of our students, Aksel and Sasha, helped carry these significant symbols, representing not only our school but our whole diocese with pride and reverence.
Throughout the Festival so far, our students have been participating in plenary sessions, listening to inspiring speakers share stories of faith, mission, and courage. They’ve joined in uplifting praise and worship music, adding their voices to the thousands gathered each day.
Students have also been exploring the vibrant ACYF Expo, filled with stalls, activities, ministry organisations, and creative displays that showcase the richness of the Church in Australia. They’ve engaged in a range of workshops, choosing sessions on prayer, leadership, Scripture, social justice, and personal faith formation.
Our pilgrims are encountering Christ in new ways — through music, community, teaching, and the simple moments of walking together as Pilgrims of Hope.
We look forward to hearing the many stories and insights they will bring back to our school community. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they complete this special journey of faith.

This Friday, our school community will gather to celebrate our Year 6 students as they complete their primary education. During a special liturgy in the school hall, we will reflect on the theme “You are the light of the world”and give thanks for the friendships, learning, and growth that have shaped their primary years.
As our Year 6 students prepare to begin secondary school next year, we look forward to praying with them, celebrating their achievements, and supporting them as they continue their journey here at Holy Trinity.
The liturgy will begin at 9:30am in the school hall followed by a shared morning tea with their families.
Each year, Holy Trinity supports our local St Vincent de Paul Society by donating money and food items so they can assist families in need within our community. As part of this effort, we are inviting families to contribute non-perishable festive food items that will be included in Christmas hampers distributed to local families who need a helping hand.
We warmly encourage your generous donations over the coming week. These items will be presented to St Vincent de Paul during our Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday, 11 December at 9:15am.
Please begin to bring in some Festive Food items, and personal toiletries to support local families in need. Thank you for your kindness and support in helping make a difference this Christmas.
