Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,

It’s always exciting as we near the end of the school year, for many reasons! Today the children were so excited to meet their teachers for 2026. We will have four new staff members next year and you will have the opportunity to meet them at the Grade Nights and the Swimming Carnival.

The students are hot, tired, excited about holidays and Christmas yet still doing their best to learn and be kind. Each grade has enjoyed or will enjoy something fun and special to celebrate the end of their school year.

On Monday at our a special assembly we will formally farewell Mrs Waterford after many years of wonderful service to Catholic education and the students of SXG. Marnie has been an incredible staff member, nurturing students, collaborating with staff and always looking for the best in everyone. She has touched the lives of so many students. We will miss her terribly and we wish her all love and best wishes for her future.

The news of Mrs Herden taking on the role of Principal at Sacred Heart Boggabri is exciting and we wish Leanne the very best in her role. She too has been with us for many years and has been an integral part of the life of our school. Boggy is very lucky to have her leading them into the future.

Our prayers and love go out to Miss Hara and Mrs McDonald as they come close to their baby due dates. Babies are such a joy and we look forward to meeting the next two of the SXG family!

Our Year 6 students had a wonderful night on Wednesday night as they were farewelled by their Year 5 peers. A beautiful Mass started the proceedings and then the students had pizza, cake and dancing in the Hall. It was a fun night and the students were exceptional in behaviour and manners.

As we say our goodbyes for another year we hope and pray our students have the best holiday and come back to us safe and happy. Thank you for your support and partnership as we walk together in the complex job of raising children to be the best version of themselves possible.

Kind regards,

Jen
