This week, we made folded fish (Year One and Two) and circle fish (Foundation) and discovered the terminology ‘multi-media.’ We used oil pastel, paint, paper, fine liners and oil pastels. Take a look 😊
During our lesson some Year Ones were keen to share their fish jokes. Hope they bring a smile to your face, as well.
“Why are fish so clever? They swim in schools”
“ What do you call a fish you take the eye from? ‘Fshhh’
“Why did the fish blush? It saw the sea’s bottom.”
Fabulous work everyone!!!!

We have been busy in the art room these past few weeks. The Grade 3 and 4 students created a landscape with collage inspired by Laura Blythman.
The grade 5 and 6 students have been working on their photography unit. Year 5s were taking photos for the Toy Photography competition and year 6s were looking at trick photography using forced perspective.

Foundation
Our Prep Performing Arts students have been busy rehearsing their Christmas concert songs and dances. The performances are already looking and sounding fantastic! The children are showing great enthusiasm and joy as they practise, and we can’t wait to see them shine on concert night.
Level 1
Level 1 Performing Arts students have been working hard—and having lots of fun—preparing for the Christmas Concert! Each class has been learning a lively song and dance, as well as rehearsing the lyrics and actions for their special buddy performance. Both items are coming together beautifully, and the students are full of excitement as concert night approaches!
Level 2
This term, Level 2 Performing Arts students have shown wonderful energy and teamwork while preparing for the Christmas Concert. Their fun and festive song and dance are really starting to sparkle, and they can’t wait to share their performance with everyone!
In addition to their concert preparations, Level 2 students have continued exploring Indigenous peoples’ connection to Country through song, dance, and music. Their current focus has been on creating an Emu dance. Students have been experimenting with body movements inspired by the emu and practising these actions to yidaki (didgeridoo) music. Working in small groups, they’ve choreographed and sequenced their own ‘emu moves.’ Each group will record their dance over the next few weeks, and we look forward to sharing the videos in class at the end of term.
Level 2 Drumming Club has been meeting Tuesday Lunch time and practising with such enthusiasm. I have emailed participants' parents. If your child has been to this sessions and I have missed your child in my email list (you didn’t receive an email about performing at the concert) please be assured that they are welcome to perform, if they feel comfortable to do so..
