Year 2 - Newsletter

Dear Year 2 families,

It’s hard to believe we are already in Week 8. We have been very busy in the classroom, and things are about to get even busier with the swimming program starting shortly.

What are we up to in the classroom?

INQUIRY

Our Term 4 Inquiry unit, Stepping into the Digital World, continues to be a huge hit. We have been working hard on our Claymation project, and the students have produced some wonderfully creative characters and backdrops.

LITERACY

In English, we have continued with our rich text–based unit on Persuasive Writing using The Day the Crayons Quit. Students will soon begin drafting their persuasive pieces.

MATHS

We have finished our unit on Time and have now started a unit on Location.

Swimming Program

Swimming starts on Monday! Important reminders will go out on Thursday.

Milk Bottle Lids

Please continue sending in washed, used 2-litre milk bottle lids for an activity later in the term. We will need 25 lids per child, so we would greatly appreciate any contributions.

Reminders

If you have not already done so, please hop onto Compass and give consent for Swimming and the Big Day Out. If there are any concerns, or if you know your child will not be attending one of these events, please contact your classroom teacher.
Hats – Term 4 is a Sunsmart term. All students require a wide-brimmed school hat as per Sunsmart guidelines. Students without a hat will be required to stay in the shade.
