Principal News - Week 8

End of Year Celebration concert
On Thursday December 11th we will be holding our end of year celebration concert.
Families can bring picnic rugs and food from 5pm and set up on the assembly court. The Eltham Rotary will be putting on a sausage sizzle and selling sausages. Students may come dressed in Christmas colours, attire and accessories if they choose to do so! Otherwise, it is free dress!
Please note, performances are approximate times so the running sheet below is approximate. We will endeavour to run on time as much as possible and have the concert end around 7pm!
We ask that everyone takes home all rubbish that is brought in picnic baskets please.
Can’t wait to see you all there and may it be a wonderfully, warm summer evening!!

Leadership update
Yesterday I communicated the following information but in case you missed it
I would like to inform you that I received information that our Principal David Foley is now receiving further medical treatment for a chronic medical condition that he has been diagnosed with. This means that he will be extending his sick leave for Terms one and two of 2026. I will continue to lead our school through this time. Stephen Hayes and Shelley Gunn will be continuing in their Assistant Principal roles forming our leadership team. I understand that this information may be unexpected however it has taken time for David to receive full medical advice on the best plan for him to treat his condition. I will continue to communicate with you swiftly following any information that I receive regarding David’s health.
Parents supporting our school
Last night the school was buzzing with parents onsite contributing to our school in a variety of ways. We held our school council meeting where we discussed several issues, a big one being our desire for the DOE to complete works on the old relocatable site so that we can get planning and working on improving that area. This will be a major project that we hope to kick off early 2026 and have it student ready as soon as possible.
The PFA also met onsite last night to start planning for 2026. They would love to hear from you and are always looking for additional members with ideas of how to engage all members of our community.
There was also a large group of parents who worked late into the night preparing for our colour run today. They have put a huge effort into this event for our students, and we are so appreciative of their efforts and enthusiasm in putting this together for our students. This is what I hope will be the first of many fabulous colour runs!
Thank you to all our families that have worked tirelessly in the preparation of this event. There have been a lot of people working away in the background organising supplies, producing maps, shopping and doing lots of physical work in preparation.
Wishing a relaxing weekend with your families!
Tandy Johnson
