Mandarin
On Tuesday, February the 17th, the Foundation students were introduced to the Chinese New Year, one of the most important celebrations in Chinese culture. They watched a short video of the legend “The Great Race” to learn about the zodiac animals. They also received the red envelopes as a new year gift to wish them good luck for the new year.
Physical Education
Students in Year 1 to Year 6 have been particiating in the 'POPS Winter Olympics' during the first few weeks of school. Students represented a country and participated in curling, snowboarding, luge, skeleton, cross country skiiing, bobsled, biathlon, speed skating, ski jump, moguls and ice hockey activities.
Performing Arts
The Year 3 & 4 students have been revising how to read and play rhythmic notation using taa, ti-ti and rest values to kick start the music program this year. In these photos, the students are playing instruments to a play-along video which they follow by playing various rhythms to the beat of the music.
Visual Art
To begin their year in Art, Year 5 and 6 students have been working on an artwork to commemorate the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse. Through this activity they learnt about analogous colours, used a variety of mediums and used the technique of Paper Tole, also known as 3D decoupage.
