From the Principal

It’s been a full and exciting week at POPS. We began with a wonderful assembly where our 2026 student leaders proudly received their leadership badges, always a special moment for our school community. We also had our school photos, which made for a busy but smooth day thanks to everyone’s cooperation. And despite the heat, our students and staff handled the school photo day with great resilience and good humour.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Thank you to our 2025 School Council members,  Sam K (Charlie 5/6G), Mike T (Harvey 5/6G), Katie F (Will 3/4O), Jen A (Jamie 6G), Rick P (Penny 1A, Everlyn 3Q) Claire H (Micah 1A, Marty 3/4O, Judd 5M), Martijn V (Eleanora 1/2D, Alexander 5/6M), Hayley D (Ava D 3O, Seb 6G), Caitlin H (Amelia 1/2D, Eliza 3/4M), Connie B, Juliana M and Phill G, for their commitment and support throughout the year. School Council plays an important role in our school’s governance, and we are grateful for the time and energy each member contributes.

This year we farewell two long standing members, Sam K and Hayley D. Sam has been a dedicated member for many years, supporting events, leading Working Bees and serving as School Council President during our school review. Hayley has also been a committed and approachable representative, supporting events and helping families raise matters for Council and assembly.

We sincerely thank Sam and Hayley for their leadership and community spirit. They will be greatly missed.

CALL FOR SCHOOL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS

We have four parent positions open this year. To nominate yourself or a fellow parent, please download the nomination form below, complete it, and either email it to bronwyn.garrity@education.vic.gov.au or hand the form in at the Office. Nominations close on Friday 27 February at 4.00pm. If we receive more nominations than available positions, an election will be held. 

If you’re thinking about joining School Council and would like to know more, please feel welcome to email, call, or pop in for a chat.

MEET OUR STAFF

At POPS, we know that strong relationships are at the heart of a thriving school community. Each week, we’ll be introducing you to one or two of our wonderful staff members so you can learn a little more about the people who support, teach, and care for our students every day.
