Every Day Counts!

Welcome to the 2026 academic year, with a special welcome to the families joining our College community this year.

As we settle into the rhythm of school life, it is timely to reflect on what it means to belong to a strong, connected community. At its heart, this means showing up - for ourselves, for one another, and for our shared learning journey. In this spirit, I extend my sincere thanks to the parents and carers of Year 7, Year 10 and Year 11 students for the outstanding turnout at last week’s Information Nights. Your engagement sets a positive tone for the year ahead and models the importance of partnership in education.

Student presence matters. Whether learning in the classroom, participating in camps, celebrating College milestones, or supporting peers at sporting events, students gain the most when they are actively involved. Consistent attendance supports academic progress, strengthens friendships, and enriches the faith-filled experiences that sit at the heart of our College.

Research consistently reinforces this message. The National Centre for Education Statistics identifies regular attendance as one of the strongest predictors of student success, noting that even small amounts of missed learning time - as little as two days per month - can affect achievement, engagement and connection.

Just as importantly, being at school builds belonging. We want our students alongside their classmates, teammates and house groups - supporting one another at Mass, on the sporting field, and during camps and retreats. These shared moments help shape lasting relationships and meaningful memories.

We recognise that illness and unforeseen circumstances are sometimes unavoidable. Please follow the Student Attendance procedures found here. Where possible, we encourage families to plan holidays during scheduled breaks to support continuity of learning, particularly during key assessment periods that contribute to student progress.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in making every school day meaningful. Together, we can ensure each student is supported to flourish, achieve and belong - now and into the future.
