Creating a political party

As part of Year 9 Humanities, students are exploring the intricacies of political campaigns - creating their own school political party and vying for the coveted title of "Prime Minister" in a mock election.

Each team member has a role researching and dissecting the values, promises and strategies of their assigned political party before embarking on the crucial phase of crafting and executing their campaign.

From the creation of posters and TV advertisements to the orchestration of candidate speeches, students have employed a diverse array of strategies to garner support for their candidates, gaining valuable insights into the inner workings of political campaigns to become informed and discerning citizens of tomorrow. One of the many benefits of Humanities.

Get ahead in ATAR English

The English Department has this year invested in a 12-month subscription to Revise Online. Each of our Year 11 and 12 ATAR English and English Literature students can use their Revise Online subscription to develop the skills they will employ in their final ATAR examinations, completing each attempt within the timeframe of the final examination, receiving feedback on each attempt, reviewing model answers and developing a working understanding of ATAR criteria and marking process.

Having made this commitment, we are keen for all our ATAR English and English Literature students to make full use of this opportunity.

Please take a moment to view your child’s subscription and to discuss it with them. Making an early commitment to these modules will definitely help refine your child’s understanding of these ATAR responses and allow them the time to discuss their strategies and progress, with their subject teachers.
